The GSX-R1000 is synonymous with performance, reliability and pure riding fun. Performance that has led to countless victories in production-based superbike, superstock and endurance races worldwide. That includes no fewer than 15 FIM Endurance World Championship titles since the model’s release in 2001. This winning performance also benefited directly over the years from proprietary technology developed for participation in the top categories of the world championship races. 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the GSX-R family, and it has been close to a quarter of a century since the GSX-R1000 debuted, changing the sportbike class forever. Though the riding environment has witnessed significant change over that time, the GSX-R1000 has continued to evolve and represent the pinnacle of sportbike potential, both on the road and the racetrack. The heart of a race winner continues to beat in every GSX-R1000, with each beat delivering an invitation to ride the machine that is “Designed to Perform, Built to Thrill”. |

Suzuki Launch Control SystemThe Suzuki Launch Control System has also been updated to further improve its control scheme. This system makes it easier for a racer to get a good start in closed-course competition by automatically limiting engine rpm and optimizing torque delivery while the rider holds the throttle twist grip wide open and concentrates on feeding in the clutch lever. Each forged aluminum piston has short skirts, cutaway sides and a short, DLC-coated wrist pin to reduce friction. The compression ratio is 13.8:1. In addition to the primary injector mounted in each throttle body, a second injector that operates at higher rpm — also known as a Top Feed Injector (TFI) — is mounted on top of the air cleaner box, directly over each throttle body’s intake funnel. The TFI injector delivers additional fuel in an improved spray pattern designed to enhance combustion efficiency, throttle response and top-end power. |
Suzuki Racing Variable Valve Timing System (SR-VVT)The introduction of a wider new cam chain helps reduce friction loss. |
|
Suzuki Top Feed Injectors (S-TFI)In addition to the primary injector mounted in each throttle body, a second injector that operates at higher rpm — also known as a Top Feed Injector (TFI) — is mounted in the top of the air cleaner box, directly over each throttle body’s intake funnel. The TFI injector delivers additional fuel in an improved spray pattern designed to enhance combustion efficiency, throttle response and top-end power. |
Suzuki Dual Stage Intake (S-DSI)A new single-stage funnel #1 and #4 design features a shape that contributes to improved output at high rpm. |
|
SET-Alpha exhaust valvesNew design SET-Alpha exhaust valves are in the balance tubes between the #1 and #4, and the #2 and #3 head pipes. Actuated by a cable from the main SET-valve, the Alpha valves open at higher engine speeds and close at lower RPM to help the engine create high peak power without losing low and mid-range horsepower. |
Cooling SystemThe high-efficiency curved radiator with dual electric fans also contributes to excellent cooling performance, and the radiator itself adopts a more compact form. |
TransmissionBased on Suzuki’s race-proven six-speed close-ratio transmissions, the new GSX-R1000 features vertically staggered shafts to reduce overall engine length. The primary gear ratio is lower compared to the prior GSX-R1000 for stronger acceleration. A programmable shift light is on the main panel to provide a visual alert to the rider to shift when a certain engine RPM is reached. |
Bi-directional Quick-shift systemThe Bi-directional Quick-shift system lets riders, using their motorcycle in competition, shift faster than ever before. The system’s clutchless shifting delivers the rider faster and more consistent lap times. |
Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS)The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) leverages precision-engineered ramps to force the clutch boss and pressure plate together and efficiently transfer torque to the rear wheel under acceleration, all while using softer clutch springs. |

SHOWA BFRC-lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion Lite) Braced on both sides, the sturdy aluminum swingarm contributes to great road holding ability and provides the strength to withstand the demands of sporty runs on the road or the track. |
WingletNew winglets added to the front cowling direct airflow and generate downforce at high speeds to enhance stability. Winglets (optional accessory). |
STRONG BRAKING PERFORMANCEThe GSX-R1000R uses radial-mount Brembo monoblock front brake callipers. Each calliper has four opposed ø32mm pistons acting on a ø320mm floating-mount disc for strong stopping power. A single hydraulic disc provides stopping power to the rear wheel. The ABS unit has been changed to Astemo’s latest product, which is more compact and lighter, reducing weight by 51g over the unit on the previous model. |
Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)Using MotoGP knowledge, Suzuki has fitted an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on the new GSX-R1000. The IMU provides six direction, three axis motion and position information to the ECM so instantaneous adjustments can be made electronically to the engine and chassis components that influence performance. |
Suzuki's advanced Motion Track TCS (Traction Control System)The new and exclusive ten-mode, Motion Track Traction Control System (MT-TCS)*, with IMU influence, increases rider confidence by allowing adjustments to amount of intervention to match riding ability and surface conditions. |
New Motion Track Anti-lock Brake SystemExclusive to Suzuki, the new Motion Track Anti-lock Brake System brings additional control to anti-lock braking (ABS). Like a conventional ABS system, the Motion Track Brake System provides the appropriate amount of braking force for the available traction. When the IMU detects the rear wheel lifting up from extreme braking forces, the ABS control module will adjust the front brake pressure to reduce the rear wheel lift. |
Aerodynamic bodyworkThe high-illumination LED headlight features low-beam and high-beam elements that are stacked, with the low-beam positioned above the high-beam. The narrow and compact design contributes to both aerodynamic performance and the sharp lines of the GSX-R1000R’s face. |
LCD Multi-function Instrument PanelThe GSX-R1000R employs an LCD instrument panel that features a clearly legible display. This panel not only supplies critical real-time operating status information, but also keeps the rider aware of the settings for the bike’s respective systems. |
LED HeadlightSharp-looking LED position lights are located above the SRAD intakes on each side of the GSX-R1000R’s headlight, enhancing the distinctive, exciting look of the model’s face. |

Lighting FeaturesThe LED combination tail/brake lamp features a vertical layout that contributes to the tail’s sharp, slim design. |
